The Home Hill Region

It is the ideal location for working in the Burdekin region that has a diversity of sporting, cultural and tourist facilities and is renowned for its friendly service.

Situated on the southern side of the Burdekin River, Home Hill has most amenities to cater for the Backpacker and a range of sporting interests including a gold club, local swimming pool, netball, fishing, windsurfing, water skiing and crabbing.

Home Hill is linked to the town of Ayr by the Silver Link Bridge which is 1.5km long it spans the Burdekin River. It is the districts best known landmark. The bridge has a fascinating history and the Lions Diorama in Home Hill is the place to find out this information.

The Burdekin dam holds four times the water of the Sydney habour and is located only a short drive from Home Hill. The dam is popular for fishing and sailing.
